Atari Stuff

Our family bought an Atari 800 back in the 80’s (thanks, dad!) and my love of all things Atari has if anything grown over the years. In college I went 16-bit with an Atari 1040STe to use mainly as a midi sequencer for my first start with producing electronic music in 1992.

I still have an Atari 800XL with a 1050 disk drive (plus the STe), along with an SDrive-MAX I built, and a Lotharek SIO2SD. (Both are devices that emulate disk drives for the old Atari.) Playing old games on the original hardware is still a kick.

I also do a lot with emulation of both the 8 and 16-bit systems.

  • – a great site for all things Atari
  • Steem SSE (Steven Segal Edition) – my favorite 16-bit emulator. It used the have its own website, there were personality issues over hosting, and now it just resides at SoureForge.
